    How much can I compress a PDF without losing quality?
    For text-based documents — up to 70–90% in eBook mode. For PDFs with scans or images — between 40 and 80%, depending on the original resolution.
    Why is my PDF larger after compression?
    This happens when the source file is already optimised or contains vector graphics with a high compression ratio. Try Screen mode for the maximum reduction.
    Can I compress a PDF to a specific size, for example 1 MB?
    An exact target size cannot be set, but choosing a mode (Screen / eBook / Print) gives predictable control over the degree of compression. Screen mode produces the smallest file.
    Does compression affect the text in the document?
    No. The PDF text layer is untouched. Compression is applied to images and embedded resources. The document remains fully readable and searchable.
    Is it safe to upload confidential documents?
    Yes. Processing happens on our server without sharing files with any third party. The file is deleted as soon as you have downloaded the result.
