An answer to a difficult question in a single meeting
You describe the question, we prepare from your brief and work through it with you in a single meeting. Afterwards we send a written summary with conclusions and a plan for the immediate next steps. The founding partners run the session personally.
60–90 minutes, online or in Moscow. The summary arrives within two business days after the meeting.
“The most useful part of a consultation happens before the meeting: the client puts the question in writing, and we argue about it between ourselves. By the time of the session we usually have two versions of the answer — at the meeting we test both”— the partners of Thesis Partners
When a one-off session is enough
A session is enough when the question is narrow and the cost of a mistake is high.
A costly decision on the table
A deal, a major hire, an investment in a new line of business. Before signing, you want to check the logic with someone who has already worked through decisions of that kind.
The argument goes round in circles
The team has split into two camps and the same arguments have been repeating for three weeks now. What is needed is an outside arbiter with no stake in internal politics.
A second opinion on someone else's strategy
A contractor has delivered a strategy or a financial model. Whether it is worth paying for implementation is a question for one meeting, not for a new project.
It is unclear where to start
The task is clear, the starting point is not. In one session we build the framework: what to calculate, whom to ask, in what order to proceed.
The situation is urgent
Falling sales, a conflict between co-owners, the loss of a major client. You need a plan for the coming weeks — there is no time to wait half a year for a project.
You want to see us at work
The first session shows how we think and what we can do. That is simpler and more honest than starting a relationship with a large contract.
What you get
The work begins before the meeting and ends with a document after it.
Preparation from the brief
Before the meeting we read your description of the situation and the materials you are willing to share. The time you have paid for is not spent retelling the background.
60–90 minutes with a partner
A one-to-one discussion of your question with a founding partner. Direct recommendations and answers, including uncomfortable ones. A recording — by agreement.
A summary with recommendations
Conclusions, next steps and an honest verdict — move ahead on your own or put a project together. We send it within two business days after the meeting.
How we work
Your request
Describe the situation and the question in the form below — three to five sentences are enough. We reply within one business day.
We check that the question is one for us
A short 15-minute call: we clarify the brief and name the fixed price. If we cannot help with your question, we say so straight away and suggest whom to go to.
We prepare and we meet
We study the materials and come with versions of the answer. The session runs 60–90 minutes, online or in Moscow.
We send the summary
Within two business days at most you have the written summary in hand — what we understood, what we advise and where to begin.
Why the consultation is paid
A free consultation is a meeting at which you are sold something. A paid one is a meeting at which you are advised. The money here buys preparation, analysis, a written summary and the right to an uncomfortable answer — up to and including “you do not need consulting right now”.
After the session there will be no calls from a manager and no special offers. If the question can only be closed by a project, we say so at the meeting itself, explain why and describe what such a project would consist of. From there the decision is yours.
What the session is not
What the meeting will certainly not be.
An hour of conversation
Every session ends with a written summary carrying recommendations and steps. A conversation that leaves nothing on paper is not something we count as a result.
A shop window for selling a project
We sell the session as a finished piece of work. For most clients the summary is enough to move on without us.
A substitute for a project
If the problem lies in implementation, recommendations without an owner for execution will remain recommendations. In that case we say honestly that a project is needed — and show how it is built.

Automating industrial plants: overcoming resistance
Thesis Partners partner Boris Kaptelov on why resistance to automation is an argument about the distribution of benefits and risks, who should own the outcome of a project and how not to get stuck in “pilot purgatory”.
